Vista 64 and Logitech G7 Mouse...
AstaLaVista;856176 Wrote: Vista also requires me to authenticate that I am an administrator everytime I boot or reboot by going thru the Allow/confirm BS To prevent Vista from asking for your permission for everything, you have to disable UAC (User Account Control). It is put there as a safeguard with the mindset that it helps so if a program is trying to run autonomously in the background, you, the user, would be alerted to its presence before something malicious happens. However, a large majority of what goes on on most people's computers is safe, so it becomes second nature to "accept" whatever pops up, thereby lessening the usefulness of the safety check. To disable UAC: = Start Menu == Control Panel === User Accounts ==== If you have multiple account names, click on the account that you use. (Note: you must have administrator privileges.) ===== Turn User Account Control on or off. (bottom most link) ====== Uncheck the box, then click okay. (A restart is probably needed) -- daflyinpig |
