After reading a bunch of threads here and somewhere else, I found out that the only way for some of my G7 mouse button options to work under Crysis was to make my G7 mouse run as an admininistrator, I did that and it worked perfect but now, everytime I restart or reboot Vista, I have to go to the obnoxious process of allowing and comfirming to Vista that I want to run the mouse as an admin. Is there a way to get rid of this nagging situation? I understandVista does for security reason but Jesus , make me sign some sort of agreement that I won't sue Microsoft if I even get a spyware for all I care but let me do what I want to do! -- AstaLaVista |

And you don't consider the coders of Crysis to be at fault? The mouse works
for all operating system functions - right? Why would you think that Microsoft should solve the problems coded into Crysis? -- Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience "AstaLaVista" wrote in message ... Hmmm, I think you have missunderstood me, let me put it to you another way... Under Windows XP Pro w/SP3, I run a Custom setup for Crysis and my G7 buttons and it works perfect. Now, under Vista x64, this same method could not be obtain. Later (after reading other forums), I learn it was because Vista requires me to run the mouse as an Administrator, which I did but now, Vista also requires me to authenticate that I am an administrator everytime I boot or reboot by going thru the Allow/confirm BS, this is why I was asking for a work around and I never thought it was Crysis fault. -- AstaLaVista |

Again, if Crysis was written correctly for Vista 64 you would not be having
this problem. -- Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience "AstaLaVista" wrote in message ... Hmmm, I think you have missunderstood me, let me put it to you another way... Can you get pass the Almighty God Syndrome and tell me if there is a work around or do you feel better everytime you look down onto others? I honestly don't give a rat's ass who's at fault here, I am trying to find a solution and the last thing I need is to get into a debate for something this stupid. Thanks -- AstaLaVista |

If I had a problem with software I would certainly take it up with the
manufacturer. Now, it could just be that they don't think that many will try to run their program under Vista 64 bit - so they aren't too concerned about the few people who have problems. Wait for their next release or service pack. -- Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience "AstaLaVista" wrote in message ... Does Crysis itself run as an administrator? |

Yes, I have Crysis running as an Admin as well and on DX10 as default. Aside from the nag of having to allow/confirm, the mouse/game combo runs fine in game. Vista sure has some wierd quirks but I guessou either have to live with it or abandon the whole thing all together ![]() -- AstaLaVista |

That's the problem right there, with the mouse software running under a user token, it cannot interact with software running as an administrator. Honestly, I'd consider any game that needs to run as administrator and cannot run as a standard user to be defective by design. |
