I'm installing Vista on an old box for my Mother to use for web & email. Asus Terminator P4-533A (uses P4SC mobo) Install went smoothly but Windows Update made the same mistake as it did when using XP on this box: it identified the onboard Audio chipset as SIS 7012 instead of SoundMax AD1980. Vista will not let me update to the SoundMax drivers. XP did the same thing but I found a work around to remove the SIS drivers and force the SoundMax install and it worked correctly. I unfortunately don't remember how I did this! Asus lists the drivers as AD1980 SoundMAX Audio Driver V5.12.3533 WHQL for Windows 2000/XP How can I get these drivers installed?
