Hi Everybody! Yesterday I was working trying to get my very old printer to
work with my very new laptop. I thought all I had to do was put the disc in and run it.....well, not so much. Kept getting an error message....came into the message board to see if I could find a similar situation. By the time I read many postings I was so discouraged I almost threw the printer out.......people said HP support wouldn't respond, etc. As a last resort I thought "what the heck" and emailed them...within an hour I had an answer!!!! I was truly blown away! AND the answer was so simple as to be mind boggling. It turns out that Vista now has drivers for all sorts of things....I didn't NEED to do an install....all I had to do was plug the printer into the USB port on my new laptop and vioal.....it printed!! So, don't give up without at least checking with the good folks at HP! It could very well be that the posts I read were old and maybe HP new they had a problem and fixed it...I don't know....but my experience was great! |
