i just got a new sata HD and installed windows vista. it initially
detected my old sata hd, as i had put all my drivers and
programs/patches on my old hd to make updating faster. when i rebooted,
my old sata hd now appears as a scsi device and it has disappeared from
windows explorer and disk managment.

Yep! That's how it is in Vista. It supports SATA as SCSI. Now let it be,
that is how it is. Have a good day.

is it possible to make it work as a scsi device? ;p

it works fine if i uninstall the sata controller drivers, but as soon
as i reboot it works, reinstalls the drivers, then tells me to reboot.
and after reboot it doesnt work
