DVD Drive Issues in x64
I hope I stuck this in the right section. Been having a little trouble with my system and thought I would post here. I'm running x64 Vista and I keep having issues with my Plextor Px760 Drive not appearing. I researched this issue and found out about removing the upper and lower filters in the registry. I deleted my UpperFilters key (I didn't have any lower) and this did fix the issue, BUT created a new one. Now iTunes brings up a message every single time I load it about my Drives not being found or usable or something and to reinstall iTunes, which I have tried several times and hasn't fixed it. I fix one problem, and the other one comes back. I can't seem to get BOTH fixed, though for right now I rather have my drive visible to windows and just live with the iTunes error. My drive is IDE, it's the only IDE drive I have in the system. If I was to get a IDE to SATA adapter, could that fix my problem? I have no idea if interface would change this problem at all, but thought I'd ask. -- ZeonStar |

DVD Drive Issues in x64
Bumping this to see if any new eyes see it. I have never resolved this problem and not sure if there is a work around. I don't even know if this is iTunes, Windows, or my drive itself.! If I delete the Upper/Lower Filters like I read on one site to do, I will have my drive and Windows again and it works. Trade off is every time I load iTunes, I get the error message about needing to reinstall iTunes, which actually doesn't help. If I put the filter Registry entries back, then iTunes works but my drive is not seen or has an exclamation next to it in device manager. Any suggestions on a complete fix? -- ZeonStar |
