Hi All,

Just completed a new build, so when I booted up for the first time I found
out that I was getting no signal from the graphic card, so therefore I can't
get into the bios etc.
I have been on to the supplier and they have asked me to do several checks,
like moving the memory around etc but still no joy.
I am a bit concerned about the power supply to the graphic card. The graphic
card has only a six pin connector and in the Thermaltake manual it tells you
to use the embedded 8 pin PCIe supply, but the problem is the graphic card
is only six pin so I had to use the PCie modulised cable which is six pin,
my concern is whether I'm getting enough power to the graphic card. At the
moment the power is getting to the graphic card as the fan works ok,but
that's about it I'm still getting no signal to the monitor.
Or is there another gremlin about in the system, any help would be
appreciated.

You appear to have hardware issues that have nothing to do with any OS. You
should seek assistance in appropriate hardware forums. Here's a link to Abit

You might also try to find forums for your video card (try Google).

The ATI cards will not work without the appropriate power connection to the
card itself. The pcie slot does not supply enough power. This is also true
of modern Nvidia cards.
If you do not have the appropriate cable, or an adapter, coming off your
power supply then you need to get an adapter or (the better solution) an
adequate power supply.
The motherboard also requires two power supplies, the main large connector
and the smaller 4 pin connector, usually at the top/front of the
motherboard. The motherboard will not boot without these two connections.
For this video card you should have at least a 450 watt power supply if you
plan to run intensive 3-d games as well as good cooling measures along with
hard drives and optical drives, USB devices etc.

I don't think that you should be concerned about having to use a modular
PCI-E connector with the 4850. The maximum rating of the 6 pin PCI-E
connector is 75W, so it doesn't have to supply huge currents.

The IP35 Pro has a diagnostic alphanumeric LED display. Are you getting any
codes on that? (I don't know what the error codes are for the board, but you
should be able to find the common ones by searching the Web.)
