Hi... I was "given" a new Dell Inspiron laptop with Windows VISTA in exchange for a defective Dell Inspiron with XP as its operating system. This was due to 3 YEARS of hassling with Dell over their defective/crappy product. My original Dell was a Small Business Computer which required Windows Fax & Scan, and it operated smoothly/reliably. Now, this new VISTA Home Basic that I have been "Upgraded" to, cannot support my operations. How can I get Windows Fax & Scan software for my new system ? I'd rather keep everything Dell/Microsoft/Windows based versus going to a 3rd party, even with all the shortcomings regarding Quality, Support, and Reliability. Please supply me with pricing and availability for this software; or is this also something else that will not be supported. You cannot get Windows Fax & Scan for your Vista Home Premium system. Windows Fax & Scan is only available on Vista Business/Ultimate. Either go to a third-party solution (some folks have liked Snappy Scan), get a standalone fax machine, or contact Dell for an upgrade to Vista Business.
