More Reasons to Hate Vista
there are two "layers" of security, right click folder- sharing is one, right
click folder- properties/security is the other, are you checking both? "Nogginsaked" wrote: I am staring at the permissions on computer A: it says this folder is shared with everyone and everyone has full control/ownership/chattel rights ad nauseum. The folder even has that idiot sharing icon. And yet . . . Computer A will not allow any other computers to access this folder. Vista networking is entirely secu if nobody can access any folder over the network no problems can occur. No work can get done except fiddling with this useless waste of code. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ON MACS, say what you will about the Apple system. It is not so arcane that a network engineer can't get simple file sharing to work. I hope Microsoft is heavily invested in mortgage backed securities. |
