I am having problems with my internet. Sometimes is works fine, but other times it doesn't work at all. For example, I will be on youtube watching a video and it will load at a normal rate, then I go to another video and it basically doesn't load at all. Another thing that happens is when I'm downloading something, it will start out working just fine, and the it freezes. The time doesn't change and the DL speed is constant. This is happening on a laptop I just bought, and I am using a Wireless router. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it's intermittent then it's more likely interference with his wireless
connection. Try switching to a wired connection and engage in the same browsing behavior. If it doesn't slow down, well, there's your debugging route. It's rather unlikely to be something wrong with just IE. Here's a possible suggestion, open a CMD prompt and use a 'ping -t hostname'. Where you replace 'hostname' with an internet server somewhere outside your local network, just upstream. You can find an upstream host IP address by using the tracert command. Use the IP address (or hostname) of the 2nd or 3rd hops. That'll probably be a host somewhere up at your ISP's network. You're trying to watch the performance between your computer and things nearby. You could use the 1st host and see if it's your wireless link itself. The -t option keeps the pinging alive until you use Control-C to stop it (or close the CMD window). Watch the ping time values. If they suddenly get a lot longer then there's something amiss. -Bill Kearney "Robert L. (MS-MVP)" wrote in message ... You may try to reset the IE. This how to may help.
