BUILT THIS SYSTEM WITH THESE SPECS

HERE ARE MY SPECS:

CPU: AMD ATHLON 6400 WINDSOR

M/B: K9A2 PLATINUM

RAM: CORSAIR XMS2 DHX 4GB (2 X 2GB) 240-PIN DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800
(PC26400)

VIDEO CARD: MSI GEFORCE 8600 GTS DDR3 512MB [image:

PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI READY CROSSFIRE READY
80 PLUS CERTIFIED ACTIVE PFC POWER SUPPLY

CASE: RAIDMAX SMILODON ATX-612WB530P BLACK 1.0MM SECC STEEL ATX MID
TOWER FOLDOUT MB


WELL I WANT TO USE FOUR FUJITSU LIMITED 73GB 10K MD:MBB2073RC SAS
HARDDRIVES. MY CONCERN IS AN AFFORDABLE RAID CARD AND CONFIGURATION.

if i wanted to use the on board controllers what cables would i use and
if i wanted to use the esata what cable would i also use raid this...

You need to read the motherboard manual to determine how to set up your
hardware, it sounds like you haven't built a PC before, I would visit the
MSI support forums for assistance.

Default help with raid on sas


No caps.

I use a LSI Logic 8708EM2 SAS RAID PCIe x8 controller with 128 Mb
DDR667 cache on-board. It handles 16 drives. My drives are Seagate
Savvio 146GB 2.5" SAS. I do RAID 1 for my OS. I will use RAID 10 for
my apps/data array, when I add it. Controller and battery were $1000.
If you need a cheaper controller, I would do SATA.
