recently my computer just totally failed on me so i had to reboot from
windows home disk, everything was installed and now its asking me for
activation key which i have on my tower i have tried and tried over again to
put the key in but it keeps on coming up wrong key..
what should i do and how can i fix this??

You will most likely have to contact microsoft by telephone, they will
then ask you to give them some details off of your product key sticker
to determine that you have a valid copy before continuing on to activate
your copy

If the version of the "Home" operating system came installed on your
computer and was not an upgrade product that was purchased and later
installed over the OEM version that came with the system you will need to
call the technical support for the company that manufactured the system and
not Microsoft.

If this was an upgrade version or a retail version of the operating system
that was purchased later you need the key that was on the CD case on the
orange sticker that said not to lose this... In that case you should call
Microsoft but be prepared to show evidence of purchase.
