Try updating your sound drivers. Get them from HP's tech support website for
your specific model machine.

Default audio problems

hi, i bought a HP DV5 last week and got the same problem.
I contact HP and we tryed everyting to solve the problem but didnt work.
i reinstall the sound driver
i flash th Bios
i did a System Recovery
But still the sound is crackling so i bring back the Notebook in an HP center.
There told me it was a problem with the Mother Board so they gave me an
other DV5 (nice, i was kind of happy)
The problem is that the new DV5 has the same problem, the sound was
crackling when the wireless is turn on. i start to get really angry!
So i bring back the notebook again and ask for a refund...
I really like the HP design so i decided to buy a DV4 but you know what!!!
SAME PROBLEM the sound is crackling again.
I contact HP again and there told me that there is MANY problem with DV4 and
the DV5. The only way to fix the problem is to bring back the notebook to an
HP center but it will take a long time because many people have the same
problem. about 50 days to fix the problem!!!
