I'm sure it's the old drivers aren't compatible with Vista. Can anyone tell me where to get drivers for PSP7 that will work on Vista?? BJ I cant say,i have long upgraded to PSP X2 which is a much better program. Why not just upgrade? i think the upgrade is around 50 bucks or so,well worth the upgrade -- Stan57 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stan57's Profile: http://winvistaclub.com/forum/member.php?userid=600 View this thread: http://winvistaclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25574 |

Find the program shortcut in start menu or on desktop, right click on this and choose properties, the compatibility tab should be 3rd from left, select the mode you want from the drop down box. You may also want to try "run as Administrator" near the bottom of the dialogue. To find the original file (the .EXE) from the properties of the shortcut, the secons tab is the "shortcut" tab on here should be an "open File Location Button this will allow you to find the .exe I have noticed that certain applications (E.G. Adobe Reader) do not show a shortcut tab. in this case you can try the right click "run as Administrator option and see if that improves things. it would then be a case of manually finding the .EXE. to adjust it's properties. You may need to take ownership of the EXE file to change it Hope this helps WOW! I must have a *******ized program because when I open "Properties" I get 4 tabs, "General,, "Shortcut", "Security" and "Details". I have gone through each and nowhere do I find "Compatibility"!! bj Actually there are six tabs one of which is "Compatibilty". Not all desktop icons have this tab, only shortcuts to .exe files. If you are checking the properies of exe files in Windows Explorer you will not see all six tabs, the file has to be sent to the desktop as a shortcut. Right clicking the desktop icon of an exe file is where you will see the "Compatibility" tab under Properties. |

-- so I am convinced it's a Vista problem!!! Not
interested in hearing any more about how wonderful Vista is!! If this were the first problem I had with Vista, I might be a little more considerate, but it's not - it;s just been one thing after another, and I'm sick of it!!!! BJ, if that's your attitude then for god's sake stop wasting everybody's time and go back to XP. PSP 7 was made YEARS before Vista was released. Although it works, it is NOT GUARANTEED TO BE COMPATIBLE. I might just point out that, according to Corel, PSP wasn't fully Vista compatible until version X2. I would try running in in XP compatibility mode. You might also want to put it on the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) exclusion list, in case that's the problem. But stop blaming Vista because it doesn't support some ancient, incompatible product. SteveT |
