Hi,

I have had a trawl through the topics here and on Google to dual boot a
system, but can't find the answer to my question.

I have built a Vista 64 system on one drive and still have my XP home
system on another drive. To build the Vista system I physically
disconnected my XP drive. When I have both drives connected my system
boots under XP and I can see the Vista drive as drive F and I can read
and write date to and from it. I can only boot Vista if I disconnect my
XP drive, so I thought now I would like to dual boot my system.
How do I make it dual boot with out reinstalling either system, or do I
have to scrub Vista and reinstall it with my XP drives connected?

I think it is possible with VistaBootPro or BCDEdit.

I have Vista on one drive, XP on a second drive, and a clone of the
Vista drive on yet a third drive.

I can boot to whichever drive I want merely by changing the boot order
in my BIOS. There is no need to disconnect anything.

You should be able to boot to the drive of your choice the same way.

I have looked at that. My drives a RAID drives and there is no way of
changing the boot order apart from physically moving the connectors on
the board.

Current motherboards provide a means by hitting a function key during
POST to override the default boot drive. The default boot drive can be
changed in BIOS setup under the Hard Disk Boot Priority or Hard Disk
Drives setting.

yes I found the option in the BIOS eventually. When I first looked I
only had one set of drives connected and that is why I could not see the
second RAID.
So I now use the BIOS now to switch boot drives.
