Default windows mail set up

Am trying to set up windows mail, however I keep getting the following
box:

LOG ON TO WINDOWS MAIL
-please verify that the username and password are correct for your
mail server-
--
Which I complete and enter and then it comes back up. I have checked
my username and reconfirmed my password, but I still get this box, Which
means I am unable to use Windows Mail.

PLEASE HELP I AM GETTING VERY FRUSTRATED: Thanks

Who is your email provider? How did you get your email before?

After getting that username/password prompt, click Cancel.
Does it then show an error message? If so, right-click on your
error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.

Remove your mail account completely and close WinMail. Then compact and
repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUTil/). Then make sure your
antivirus software is not set to scan email (see point 3 he
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3) and then open WinMail and add your mail
account back again and see if it works then.
