Some time ago I posted a two part question about lockups running Vista Home
Premium and about one of my logical drives on my external HD not being available when running Vista. Here is how I finally solved the problems: 1. I used Acronis Disk Manager to adjust the sizes of those two logical drives, then copied the files from the problem drive (using my XP computer) to the other external logical drive. Then I did a full format of the problem one and all of a sudden I have that one back. Now I can transfer my files back to that logical drive. 2. I finally bit the bullet and used the restore feature of Vista to redo the operating system. Now I no longer have any lockup problems and Vista is running the best it has since I first started using it. Only hassle was restoring the important programs I use with Vista. It took a lot of time to resolve the above but so far it has been worth it. Stu Davis |
