during the course of the day, it is almost daily now, i will click PRINT in
any of the few programs i use and ALL my 7 printers are gone. I have 1 local and the rest networked and Image writer/ .pdf converter. the only way i can get them back is to restart the computer. i have not been able to isolate the incident to a particular program, this has happened on my desktop for a month and just today started on my laptop. (laptop has no local printer) |

the print spooler service on your machine has stopped. A reboot will start
it again or just restarting the service without a reboot is sufficient. The command prompt needs to open As administrator. http://www.coribright.com/windows/Article_Nine.htm The event log will have a Service Control event stating when it failed. Most spooler failures are caused by faulty or corrupted print drivers. Compare the drivers on both machines. There should be some windows error reports (WER) data that may point to the driver at fault. -- Alan Morris Windows Printing Team Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base he http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1 This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
