Some of our desktop shortcuts occasionally do not display the proper icon.
For example, we have a desktop shortcut linked to an old MS-DOS program (Computer Associates AccPac Plus). Therefore, the shortcut acts as an old PIF file which allows the user to control many settings for the shortcut and DOS window. By right-clicking on the shortcut and selecting 'Properties' and the 'Program' tab, we can select to change the icon for the shortcut. We have chosen an icon file (.ICO) that resides in a folder with the program file. The icon properly shows up on the program tab as if the icon has been properly changed. However, the icon is NOT updated on the 'General' tab nor does it display in the desktop shortcut. Any suggestions? |
