This solution worked for Vista 32 Ultimate 32-bit I've seen several solutions on the web for this error; none worked on my machine. Apparently the solution to the Vista "media is write protected" error in sending a fax is in the registry. Open regedit (back it up via export) Go the key: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fax Click on "ArchiveFolder" in the right pane Verify its content is "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\WindowsNT\MSFax" If it is not, change it. That's what fixed it on my machine (solution from Microsoft "chat" support). They said this solution is in the KB article 005075, but I certainly couldn't find it. -- jgarman |

You didn't quote any posts and you started a new thread. To what problem is
this a solution? My Archive Folder setting is: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Microsoft\Windows NT\MSFax and everything works fine. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "jgarman" wrote in message ... In running Vista's FAX service (not available in all versions of Vista) several folks have run into the error message which is the title of the thread and been unable to send faxes. All other threads mentioning this error were closed, so I opened a new one. -- jgarman |

I see. Thanks. Steps to repro the problem or quotes from other posts would
help us put this in context. I've never seen the issue reproduced. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "jgarman" wrote in message ...
