Default Sharing a USB broadband adapter

I have a desktop with XP SP2 and 2 laptops with VISTA.

I have a Sprint USB broadband adapter and would like to share my
internet connection over a home network. I cannot get it to work. When I
connect my Linksys router to the desktop it disconnects the USB internet
connection.

Is this possible?

Is there a USB socket on the router? If so, connect the Sprint to the
router, then connect the router via a J45 cable to the PC....

Default Sharing a USB broadband adapter

Hi
If you want to use wire for both computers you do not need a Router. Connect
the two computers with a crossover network cable and use Windows ICS.
If we are talking second computer Wirelessly. Assuming that the Computer
with the Sprint adapter has also a wire network card, and that the second
computer has a Wireless Card.
Connect the Router with a cable to the Internet host computer network card
using a regular port on the Router (leave the WAN/Modem port open).
Change the Router core IP to be on the subnet of Windows ICS (192.168.0.x)
give the second computer a static IP of the same subnet (like 192.168.0.10)
establish
Configure the Wireless Router as explains here,
http://www.ezlan.net/router_AP.html
Establish Wireless connection between the two computers then switch On
Windows ICS.
Windows native Help has info about ICS if needed.
