Default MBR

On a dual boot (XP and Vista) 2drive set up, where is the MBR? is it on the
xp drive or the vista drive? Using vista bootloader.

The volume that is designated "system".

Her'es my problem: sometimes the boot screen freezes so I can't select xp or
vista, Tried vista startup repair. have 2 HDs, 1 xp the other vista. any
ideas?

Hi,

If the boot is freezing, then you first need to check the hardware. Test
memory, power supply, and hard drives with diagnostics. Look for blown or
leaking capacitors on the motherboard.
