MP3 player installation, Vista, Driver error - code 10
Since I purchased my Dell Inspiron with Vista 32-bit (in August of
2007)... I have connected 5 different MP3 players... the 2 SanDisk ones worked ok (drag and drop in window explorer, no syncing) because I could set them to MSD (?) vs. MTP's. However, the Samsung and 2 Creative (including one the one I purchased 2 weeks ago that advertised it was Vista compatible) don't have the options to set to the other setting and my computer doesn't recognize them after telling me that the driver installation failed or can not start. All of these MP3 palyers have also been pluggeds into a comp with XP and worked as expected. When I go into Device Manager I am told that the driver is the most up to date one, the driver installed correctly but could not start, code 10, etc.. I tried to install hardware and got a code 10 as well. I show that I have insdtalled SP1. I am so frustrated and am about to toss the computer out the window. I have spent too many $ $ and hourw trying and searching every where for an answer/solution. The one hotfix I found gives me an error that it is not for my system. HELP!!!????? |
