Default DVD drive disapears

I am having a recurrent problem with my CD/DVDW drive. I have a TSST
corp Model TS L632D ATA Device. The local compter store removed the
filters for me before and it fixed this problem for a month. I don't
remember how they were removed. I also tried uninstalling the drive. On
reboot it always come back with an error code of 039. I also tried
looking on the web for the drivers so I could download them manually,
but it was no use. I'm not the most computer savy guy and all the
millions of links ran me in circles. Any thoughts as to what I should
do? I have a Toshiba Sattlitte P205D-S7436. Thanks.

I am having roughly the same problem. My disk drive suddenly quit reading
any type of disk. You can hear it spin up but it does nothing else, not
program, no error message, nothing. I was not sure of the fix because I am
running XP on an HP Pavillion. What can I do?
