Default Hidden folders taking up my hard drive space?

Please help (or point me in the right direction).

I've noticed most of my hard drive is full.

There's no way I have that much on it.

So I've had an explore and noticed this;

Now, I've been through the folders and files in this folder and I
reckon there is about 10GB tops in there.

Is there some hidden folders I don't know about? Is it the system back
up? Surely to large for that?

Stumped. Help please. Many thanks,
Paul.

Run Disk Cleanup and see what happens.

Check to see how much of your drive is dedicated to Restore Points,
and maybe make some adjustments the

I am an idiot. When I had did the disk clean up I didn't select the
temporary internet files tick box thing which was 36GB. Bloody stupid
amount. Got a third of my hard drive back now!!

While the temporary internet files will take up a lot of room another disk
'hogger' is system restore points and the hibernation file. If you don't use
hibernation on your PC then it is better to get rid of it and free up a
little more space (if you have 2GB of memory, for example, your hibernation
file is also 2GB. ( see this link from my website on disabling hibernation:
http://vistasupport.mvps.org/disable_hibernation.htm )

If you don't use system restore you can turn it off (see
http://vistasupport.mvps.org/turn_of...em_restore.htm ) Make sure you do
have a backup image of your drive in case of any problems though. Good
imaging software is Acronis True Image 2009.

If you 'do' use system restore you can, if you wish, reduce the amount of
space it takes up. (See
http://vistasupport.mvps.org/decreas...em_restore.htm )
