Wireless Networking Problem
I keep getting this message and have no idea how to fix it:
Wireless networking problem You received this message because hardware or software in your computer caused Windows to shut down unexpectedly and restart. This is a serious problem, commonly referred to as a stop error or blue screen. Although the specific cause of this problem is not known, it appears to be related to wireless networking. I went through all the steps it suggested up to the step that told me to do this. The wireless adapter that I have is: Name [00000008] Dell Wireless 1510 Wireless-N WLAN Mini-Card Adapter Type Ethernet 802.3 Product Type Dell Wireless 1510 Wireless-N WLAN Mini-Card Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\bcmwl6.sys The Fault Bucket I found is: 0xD1_bcmwl6+658b8 And this is my System info: OS Name Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Premium Version 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001 Other OS Description Not Available OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation System Name STUDIO-NOTEBOOK System Manufacturer Dell Inc. Wireless Networking Problem
there was a recent windows update that offered a new Broadcom
wireless driver. start your computer without wireless support (is there a hardware button of key combo to do this?) or safe mode and either rollback the driver through device manager or do a system restore to a time before this started. then go to windows update and HIDE the broadcom driver. not sure this IS your issue, but it does seem likely. Wireless Networking Problem
I've been 'round and 'round with Dell on this. Problem not solved, but I'll
report back here if/when I'm successful. Trying Barb's suggestion now...
