I have installed the drivers for my BlueTooth dongle in vista and the
device is fine in device manager.

XP used to have an icon Bluetooth places on desktop or something.

I have checked in sounds+devices as advised online and also classic view
of control panel.


Unfortunately you may be having the same problem I have. I have a Dlink
DBT-122 and it is seen in System Properties but not under the Bluetooth icon
under control panel. Vista doesn't work with a lot of Bluetooth dongles.

One thing you can do though is to download the Windows Mobile Device Centre
from Microsoft but make sure Activesync is NOT installed before you install
the device centre.
