i have a desktop running xp pro sp3 and a laptop running vista, i have two
user accounts on both machines. i can see and access one folder on xp machine under acct. 1 from vista but can't access a shared folder on xp under acct 2 . vista gives the error the folder is accessible but you dont have permission. i compared the two folders setting and they are the same. neither asks for user name or password. i also run norton 360. all sharing is enabled there. why one but not the other. i am assuming something with the user accounts. thanks |

Hello,
If you haven't already, make sure Norton 360 is properly configured for the network. http://service1.symantec.com/support...o& src=ap_hot -- Eric Cross Microsoft MVP (Windows Desktop Experience) http://mvp.support.microsoft.com "bocmac" wrote in message ... i have a desktop running xp pro sp3 and a laptop running vista, i have two user accounts on both machines. i can see and access one folder on xp machine under acct. 1 from vista but can't access a shared folder on xp under acct 2 . vista gives the error the folder is accessible but you dont have permission. i compared the two folders setting and they are the same. neither asks for user name or password. i also run norton 360. all sharing is enabled there. why one but not the other. i am assuming something with the user accounts. thanks |
