i've tried cd's and dvd's, and my drive makes the whirring noise, but never
recognizes them. i went through the "device manager," and it said that my driver was already the best one and didn't need to be updated, and that the device is operating properly. I have a "TSST corp CD/DVDW TS-L632M ATA Device." What can I do? |

Drives fail, you could open up the desktop case (with power disconnected)

hi on my wife's laptop yesterday it had the same problem try this it worked for me '_http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060_' (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060) delete the Upper and Lower filters manualy from registry -- njnitehawk |
