Default Vista 64 BAD Memory Problem

I've had my machine for about a year and its always Bluescreened on me.
At first i thought it was the 2 graphics cards, so I've just removed
them. But i'm still getting the problem.
So I did a check on my memory (using the Memory Diagnostic Tool) and it
tells me that out of the 4 ram sticks 3 of them cannot be written to in
certain ranges.

My question is can I force Vista to ignore certain ranges of memory and
not to use it?

This will be a stop gap until i can afford some more ram (but i'm
trying to wait until I can afford a new PC)

Thanks

Hi darrylw99.....

if your sticks show errors there is no way round it, you need new ones

seeing as your buying a new machine soon anyway just run the 1 good
stick till then..??

alternatively if your PC upgrade is going to take a while, have a look

Default Vista 64 BAD Memory Problem

With 4 ram modules, stability on many motherboards require either higher
dram voltage (if supported by your ram modules) or slower ram clock. Try
going into the BIOS and setting a lower ram speed. If your ram speed is
already higher than your processor's bus speed, dropping ram speed may have
no performance impact anyway. I looked at a system with 800 MHz ram and a
1333 processor bus (667MHz x 2), and dropping the ram speed to 667
stabilized the system with 4 modules without any significant reduction in
memory subsystem benchmarks.

You could also check temperatures- motherboard, processor and inside the
case. If it's running hot stability decreases.
