Default VISTA FAx & Scan issue

I have a situation where I can create a document and FAX that document
but I am not able to do the following:

1) foreward a FAX
2) send a FAX created from within the VISTA FAX & Scan utility

I would appreciate it if some who has VISTA and a faxmodem could try
doing items 1 and 2 above.

You posted this in vista.general on the 2nd and received no replies.
You probably will only see this reply here.

In the future, post to every newsgroup at the same time (cross-post)
rather than multi-post as you did.

Default VISTA FAx & Scan issue

Hello Mitch,

I was able to do both. My problem is that I could not abort the send in
progress in order to prevent the actual send. Please note that I am using
an HP All-in-One as my fax/modem and not an integrated PCI Fax/Modem adapter
card. Not sure if this would make any difference. Have you checked all of
your setup or configuration settings to make sure that all is in order?

Unfortunately, the Microsoft Fax facility is a pretty primitive program and
very limited in scope. Don't know why Symantec stopped developing WinFax
and TalkWorks, but they were fabulous fax programs in their time. Wish
Microsoft had an equally capable product.

Good Luck

You need to post complete and accurate information in the appropriate group.
Post the details of what you are doing step by step, what happens, and what
is not happening that you think should, including error messages in the fax
and scan group.

Default VISTA FAx & Scan issue

I will try to be more precise.

Of the three situations where faxes can be sent using Vista Fax &
Scan, two do not work for me. I am using VISTA Business. The
situations a

A/ In trying to forward a fax..

Details:

1) I open Vista Fax & Scan
2) I open a fax within the "Inbox".
3) I then select "Forward as a Fax".
4) In the "To" window I enter a phone number in the format
xxx-xxx-xxxx.

5) I put some text in the message sectionessage
6) I then click on "send".

I get an error message that says "The message could not be sent. The
parameter is incorrect."

B/ In trying to originate a Fax from within Vista Fax & Scan..

1) I open Vista Fax & Scan
2) I click on "New Fax"
3) I fill in the subject
4) I enter the phone number in the " To" window in the format
xxx-xxx-xxxx.

5) I put some text in the message section.
6) I click on "send"

I get an error message that says: "The message could not be sent. The
data is invalid."

You'd be better off posting in the group that deals with Fax & Scan:
microsoft.public.windows.vista.print_fax_scan
