VISTA FAX sending issues
I was not able to find that directory. however, I did a search for all
tif files and nothing turned up. This is surprising as I have assumed that all of my retained faxes (in the logs) are saved as tif files. I have now been able to find the folder that you mentioned and I see four tif files within it. These represent some, but not all, of the FAXES within my Inbox. These all date from the end of last month. Ihave a couple of FAXEs in my "Sent" log and they are not represented within this folder. I have tried to forward one of the faxes where I see its tif file reference in the temp folder. I still get the same error message. You've lost me. The folder I mentioned only holds fax documents that you
have created but not yet sent. It does not hold received faxes. I suspect you are not looking where I told you to. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Mitch" wrote in message ... And you are certain that you are seeing Received faxes there? So what do you
see when you look in your Inbox Folder? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Mitch" wrote in message ... VISTA FAX sending issues
WOW!!
You won't believe this. In originating a FAX from within VISTA F & S, as I previously said, I need to add an attachment. I can't jsut write text in the large text area beneath the subject field. This I mentioned previously. And I cannot have anything in the text area beneath the subject field. Now, I find that the same issue turns up in forwarding faxes. In the text area beneath the subject field, the following appears by default: "----- Original Message ----- Sent: December-06-08 5:45 PM" If I remove this, the FAX I am trying to forward will send. The utility doesn't seem to like to have text in what I think of as a place to write text. I'll let you just keep playing here. Please post clear steps to reproduce
the behavior you're seeing when you can. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Mitch" wrote in message ... WOW!! You won't believe this. I need to clarify a couple of points:
1) The text area at the bottom of the form (under "Subject") that looks a bit like Word Pad - What's its purpose? My ability to either originate a FAX from within F & Sor forward a FAX, seems to depend on that area being clear. 2) Cover Pages: The drop down lists several but no cover documents seem to be there. When I look at Documents/Fax - where cover pages are supposed to be located, there are no documents there. Can't proceed until you answer the rest of my questions. You also need to
post your file association for TIF files. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Mitch" wrote in message ... VISTA FAX sending issues
I thought that I had answered all of the questions.
Nevertheless, I am now able to forward FAXes and send FAXes originated within Visra F & Scan. It s seems to me that in the past, my inability to do so relates to my lack of understanding about two items: 1) the proper use of the "WordPad" like area beneath the subject field (I can't send or forward faxes when there is anything within this area and I would like to understand why this is so.) 2) The need to include at least an attachment or a cover sheet. I am currently tring to figure out how to bring up what I believe to be the stock cover sheets (generic, confident, fyi, and urgent). These names appear in the drop down menu but selecting any of them does not result in their appearance. They are supposed to be in the documents/fax folder but they aren't there.
