Have a PC with Vista Business that accesses a file server via VPN at the head
location. Just put up an Exchange 2003 server that every computer has no problems connecting to through the VPN after adding the server IP to their host file so they could resolve by name. However, the Vista computer cannot. Even adding the entry in the host file it cannot ping by name. I have disabled IPv6 as something to try, but still not luck. Keep in mind this worked for every other computer except the Vista machine. Any ideas? |

In this case, I would use WINS instead of host file.
Go back to the issue. Can you ping the Exchange by IP? -- Bob Lin, MS-MVP, MCSE & CNE Networking, Internet, Routing, VPN Troubleshooting on http://www.ChicagoTech.net How to Setup Windows, Network, VPN & Remote Access on http://www.HowToNetworking.com "dwhagerman" wrote in message ...
