Unless three weeks ago you installed new software that starts automatically when you boot and is running in the background, almost certainly you became infected with malware three weeks ago. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup |

wrote: Ii use to run spybot search and destory on XP but not sure if it works for Vista 64 bit. I believe it does. Does the one you sugest? I believe that does too. However, I have never run either one on 64-bit Vista, so you might want to wait for someone with more 64-bit experience to verify what I say. Also note that running a single anti-spyware program is insufficient. None of them is good enough to catch everything, and you get much better protection if you run at least two or three. Still, when used on top of other products, it's a part of an arsonal of
removal tools. It does work, it's just not the best. The part about safety scanner that puts it in a class with Trendmicro Housecall, and BitDefender Online Scanner is that they all run from the browser and clean when you can't get the job done with installable scanners because your infection has corrupted them. If you don't see the value of this, then maybe you should take a closer look. "Ken Blake, MVP" wrote in message ...
