Default Which CPU should I use

Hi

I have two spare CPU's and am not certain which one will give me the best
performance.

1) Intel Pentium D (Dual Core) Extreme 3.2 Gig with HT
2) Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66 Gig

Any ideas on which will perform faster for a) Gaming, b) Graphics work c)
General EG Spreadsheets etc.

Appreciate any advice.

Definitely the Core 2 Duo. The Pentium-D is based on the P4
architecture which was, frankly, horrible.

Core for core, despite having a lower clock speed the Core 2 Duo CPU
will run circles around the Pentium-D in nearly any task you throw at
it.

Thanks for taking the time to post a response, I appreciate your effort, now
I am in no doubt, I have been sitting here for weeks, looking at my brand
new Pentium-D thinking, "what if it is the better option"

Now, following yours and Paul's post, I know it is not and can rest easy.

regards

Daniel
