Default USB devices

After the last series of updates to Vista all USB devices that function as
removeable discs have a problem. The problem is that Vista says "the device
needs formatted in order to use". The devices are formatted and work on XP
machines. Prior to the updates the problem did not exist on the Vista machine.

Using Vista Ultimate SP1

Any advice or encountered same problem?

I sort of have a problem like yours - whenever I plug or unplug usb
devices or insert a CD/DVD, my screen flickers. Never happened before
last week's updates. I also tried installing SP2 and that didn't help.

Sort of start your own thread next time instead of hijacking someone
else's thread.

Was never meant to be that way.... Was only posting because I have a
