BSOD.... everywhere i turn
i need some help, before i go insane! i'm trying to fix a new laptop for a friend, a new-ish dell xps m1330 with vista home premium x86. i don't know any background to the problem cause the user doesn't have a clue. basically... i get a BSOD no matter what i do. as it is, the laptop won't connect to a wireless network. when i click on the icon on the system tray... BSOD. so i reboot, go into device manager, disable device, try to re-install from driver cd and get another BSOD. i've tried to use the factory restore disk. i've tried safe mode. i've tried to reinstall XP. i keep getting that rather nasty BSOD. to be honest i'm getting a little fed up with it. what i have assertained is that there is a possible IRQ mixup with the GFX, (8400gs M i think), but the system isn't stable enough for me to be sure. can anyone shed some light on this for me please? i'd be very very grateful!! -- defur the great |

New laptop with those kinds of problems = friend should call Dell Tech Support. It's probably a hardware issue and neither of you can fix that yourselves.
