To which fax software are you referring? We can't read minds, you know.

Look in the manual for the all in one.

Some have fax capability and plug directly into the phone line.

Some have fax capability and have to connect via an analogue modem in the
host computer..

Some don't have fax capability in which case you need to purchase software
and an analogue modem..

*Or* he needs to purchase a stand-alone fax machine. Mine, for
example, cost me $20, meets my needs just fine, and is a much better
buy than software and an analogue modem.

It would also be helpful to know the model of the printer.
