Hi all, Not sure if this is the right place but I am depressed to solve this sudden problem. My windows update is scheduled every Sunday midnight. Now I woke up today and found the laptop has already restarted after the updates. I logged in and everything is weird, the font is set to "LCD" font and every thing is just Win98-looks-like. I tried to check the fonts folder and there is nothing but this lcd font. I tried to restore and the restore failed and after that the restore points have disappeared. Moreover, I have tried to roll back and uninstall all the last updates but it didn't work. Please help as I am about to finish my PhD thesis and now this is preventing me from doing nothing. I tried to search for the default fonts pack for vista but couldn't find but the powerpoint viewer method which adds few fonts, a reason made me able to post this thread for now. Please help ![]() -- Terrorist |

Hi Again ![]() I have solved the problem by using the fonts backup from DRIVE:/Windows/Winsxs/backup and it worked, I mean I at least can choose from different fonts but I can't see what I used to write the thesis, for instance I used the font "Garamond" but I couldn't find it in the backup. I am wondering if there is a link to download the fonts for office2k7. If not it is OK ![]() -- Terrorist |

Reinstall Office. It will replace at least the Office fonts. It is likely
that you used one of these to write your thesis. -- Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience "Terrorist" wrote in message ...
