Default HP Scanjet 5590

The driver seems to load and when I look at the scanner in the "device
manager" it reports that it is working properly but when I try to access the
properties in the control panel I don't get a responce. When I try the
Windows Fax and Scan I get noe responce from the "scan" button and when I try
the Sacn Settings the window shows no deviced but when I go to add one I get
an error message "Failed to Initialize selected scanner".

I've tried reloading the driver but no change - device just shows up as HP

Do you have Vista drivers from HP?

If not, the solution is to contact HP about updated drivers
for Vista.

Without the appropriate drivers you're probably not going to
get it to work!

Have you bothered to contact HP Tech Support? My experience
with them is they are very responsive. You definitely will
not find the drivers on a Microsoft web site!

Your response immediately below is quite different that
asking "Has anyone seen the HP drivers for vista?" If
they're not on the HP web site, why would you expect them to
be here. O,r that someone would have knowledge of their
whereabouts other than HP.
