From 2 weeks ago I have problem in vista startup.
After turning on my computer and entering windows username and password and after few seconds that WELCOME appears , my computer restarts and this process repeated for 1 to 4 times.
After that I vista comes up and I can use my computer.
How can I solve the problem?

Default StartUp Problem !!!!

Hi,

What are the contents of this registry key's userinit string?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

It should be only:

C:\Windows\system32\userinit.exe,

ending with the comma. If there is additional lines, remove them.

Hi and I have had a problem too that everythime I start up my computer it starts but just sits on the green moving bar. Never goes beyond that..I shut it off and hit f8. once it open I hit run windows startup regular and it boot then into windows. I called micro soft support and paid 59 dollar and they jst for 1 week tried various things. They could not even get this problem solved. I put in my disk that restores it back to day 1 and now it works fine so far..I have no idea but when I restored it the problem stopped............DON

Hi Friends;
For more information I must say that some times, before restarting, it shows for a few seconds:

"Group Policy client service failed to logon"
"media...write protected"

Excuse me for uncompleted sentences because of on short time showing ,i can not read carefully
thanks for your attentions.

So it seems there's a problem with Group Policy? Have you tried disabling
whatever Policies you have set up?
