Default Web pages won't load on random occassions

Hi,

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit with Internet Explorer 7.
Ever since I upgraded my PC and installed Vista (about 1 year ago) I have had
a problem with loading web pages. Every time I access the web I find that web
pages won't load on a random basis. The issue appears to relate to all web
sites (e.g. Google, Hotmail, etc.).

I have provided a scenario below as an example of the issue I face:

* I have loaded Google and searched for something. I then click on the first
search result. If I then try to go back to Google sometimes it will not load
(i.e. I get a "Web page cannot be loaded" error). If I try 3 or 4 times more
to access Google it will still not load. However, if I then leave the
computer for 5 minutes, say, and return I can access Google again.

This issue affects me almost every time I access the web. I have discussed
this with my house mates (running XP or Mac) who do not have the same problem.

Any help is much appreciated.

Regards,

David Saunders

Try updating your network adapter drivers. Never get drivers from Windows
Update. Get them from:

1. The device mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM computer
(HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

1. Read any documentation you got when you bought the computer.
2. If the computer is OEM, go to the OEM's website for your specific model
machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers anyway)
3. Download, install and run a free system inventory program like Belarc
Advisor or System Information for Windows.

Don't know if this applies to Vista but under XP there was timing
entry in the register that was set to 5 minutes. If a web page failed
to load then another attempt inside the timing entry would
automatically fail.

I may be incorrect about the 5 minuttes but I remember the entry and
how much better things were after I changed it to zero. Seems the
entry was in seconds. I got the fix off one of the XP sites that users
have. It may have been Karens Korner but I am not sure.

And I said, I am not sure if this applies to Vista.

Bet someone else does however.
