A Vista's PC was joined to old Windows-NT domain.
Now i want to join it to Windows2000 ActiveDirectory, but no success. First step was to remove it from old Domain and put it to WorkGroup. And then try to join to Win2000 domain ... The error message is: "The join operation was not succesful. This could be because an existing computer account having name "MyPCname" was previously created using a different set of credentials. Use a different computer name, or contact your administrator to remove any stale conflicting account. The error was: Access is denied." I've renamed the PC - no success. It still does not join to win2000 domain. Delete such records from DNS server, WINS server - still no success. Fresh installed Vista can be joined to the domain Can someone help me? |

Resolved,
Installing Win2000 SP4 on Domain controller (running Win2000 server). Set "Enable NetBIOS over TCP..." on client PC. And probably, set apropriate hosts in Client PC's Host (LMhost) files.
