I am becoming desperate. I am trying to upgrade from Windows XP Professional
version 2002 Service Pack 3. The installation goes all right until it expands the files. It accesses the DVD drive, then I get the message: "Windows could not prepare computer to boot into the next phase of installation" and tells me to start again. It doesn't say what the problem is. I was having a bit of problem with my auto play on my DVD recorder, but has been resolved with Microsoft's autoplay repair tool. Autoplay works. I also removed any remnants of Nero. incd, etc. with their General clean tool. A possible issue is that I have 2 drives: C: D: and Windows Xp is on the D: drive so it boots from that one. Please can someone help. |
