I keep getting the Windows Vista box saying that Explorer has stopped

There is no generic fix possible for that generic problem. What are the specific fault details for that specific crash according to "View Problem History" in the Problem Reports and Solutions control panel after you Check for Solutions there? -- Speaking for myself only.
