Default Search field on open/import?

Hi guys, I did post this a couple of days ago but can't find my post
so forgive me if this is a duplicate.

Is there any way to add search functionality to the open/import/place
dialog box in Vista Business? I use lots of apps like InDesign,
CorelDrraw, Photoshop etc and it would be great to be able to search
for the file I need just as you can with Explorer.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Jo
