Hi! I'm new to this forum and I'm currently having some problems with my system. I'm currently using a Dell Inspiron 1521. I've grown sick of Hibernation mode (my computer would take seven minutes to come out of hibernate), and I looked online for a solution. I found a website that advised me to enter command prompt as administrator and type powercfg -H off. I did so. Now whenever I close the lid and open it later, one of two things happen. Either the computer immediately goes back to how it was, as if it came out of sleep/standby mode. Or, the computer goes to a black and white screen informing me that the computer has suffered an unexpected shutdown. I am then offered the option to start it in normal mode of in safe mode. I've tried going back into command prompt and entering powercfg -H on to no avail. I've tried fiddling with the power options and specifying what happens when the lid is closed. Nothing. I keep losing work because of this. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -- MURPHYCHACHO |
