Default Continuous communication with IP 224.0.0.252

Good day all,

I'm using Vista Ultimate with IE7 and ADSL internet connection. Suddenly,
without a reason I know, I have noticed continuous communication (upload of
data) taking place between my PC and IP address 224.0.0.252 .

Any idea how this has happend? Can this be a malacious hole in the system?
What is causing this and how to stop it?

Thanks a lot
Morteza

224.0.0.252 is Link-local Multicast Name Resolution. (you now know as much
about that as I do)
It has something to do with an alternate method of name resolution (DNS).
Multicast is when one location broadcasts to many receivers. (A live web
video feed comes to mind). Google 224.0.0.252 comes up with a lot of stuff.
