First of all, I'd like to say this is a very nice forum. Thank you to the owner and staff. I sure hope we can be a helpful and productive member. That being said. Here's my problem. Something is erasing my prefetch files. I need to know how to find out what is doing this. Is there any way to find the source of this deletion? I've searched the internet, my computer and can't seem to find the answer. Someone help me!!!!!! Thanks in advance. boltsinkinc -- boltsinkinc |

Here's my problem. Something is erasing my prefetch files. I need to
know how to find out what is doing this. What do you mean, "something is erasing my prefetch files"? How would you know? Do you mean they are literally being erased off the disk? Or from memory? This is a genuine question; I've no idea how to see what files have been prefetched. SteveT |

C:Windows\prefetch Sometime deleting these files will help to flush out files that are no longer used and make the prefetch quicker. Regards Graham...... |

The prefetch files are located in the following folder on your boot
disk....... C:Windows\prefetch Fascinating! Thanks. Is there somewhere I can learn more about these files? How they are used, if/how they are related to Superfetch, etc? Sorry to the OP, though, for not helping. SteveT |
