As of yesterday, my PS/2 keyboard will not work when I boot up Vista.
What is odd is that it *will* still work in the bios and on the prompt
asking whether to boot in safe mode. The keyboard is just a generic PS/2
keyboard.

I also tried plugging in another keyboard, to no avail.

Lastly, I do not own a USB keyboard of any sort.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Hi,

Using the mouse, open device manager and remove (uninstall) it from the
keyboards branch, then reboot.

Can anybody help me with this? Even on the Vista installation disk, I am
unable to use the keyboard. The keyboard will not work on ANYTHING
outside of the Bios. This is becoming a very frustrating deal. Any
clues, ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

You had a reply from Rick Rogers. Did you do what he said to do?

He/She is using vBulletin which never picks up my posts for some reason.
When I respond, I don't first check the source. I figure that even if they
never see it, others searching via google archives will.

Go into control panel/system
scroll down to keyboards
delete all listed keyboards
scan for hardware changes

This worked for me with my Vista 64 bit when this happened to me
